Model and die presentation has a huge effect on the patients perception of the quality of treatment they are receiving. Models should be clean and professional in appearance. Mounting should be accomplished neatly. Articulators should be clean and new. Remember, this is the first visual impression the patient has of the quality of your work, if it is a positive one case acceptance and overall satisfaction will be higher. Why is it that in many laboratories so little attention is paid to this area?
The best ceramic work in the world is only as accurate as the stone models it is created on. At Team Aesthetics we teach techniques to produce beautiful accurate models. We also utilize some of our basic communication tools (stick-bites and photographs) as we are trimming our models to provide proper orientation for the ceramist. Techniques for mounting master models to centric relation bites or centric occlusion bites as well as cross mounting provisional models will be covered in this Advanced Dental Education course.
